Passing of the Torch

Ever since Mike had his heart bypass surgery I cringed whenever he would get upon the roof to clean off the acorn or leaves. With our trees it was often. He finally agreed to let Dylan and Logan help.

We would always give them a few dollars. They told us they would do it just because they loved us, but we told them to shut up and take the money. They could always use the cash and we really appreciated the work. For about the last 9 years they would come when we needed them ALWAYS.

Now Logan has moved to Wisconsin and Dylan has a demanding job - It’s harder for them to be available.

When the Flory’s were over last weekend I asked Roger (he’s 15) if he was afraid of heights. Nope! I then asked if he would get up on the roof to clear the acorn off the gutters. He said of course. When Luke (he’s 13) heard me asked he got excited and offered to go up and help too. My response was don’t tell your Mom. Mary wasn’t there at the time.

They were both very excited to be helping and did an awesome job. We gave them each some money -they both said they just wanted to help. I told them to shut up and take the money.

We appreciate their help so much. It’s makes me so very happy they are here for us.

Thanks and love to our grandsons. The roof torch has been passed from Grandsons to Grndsons.
