I was going to say "tape a quilting show," but that's technically not true anymore - there is no tape. Somethings are hard to let go - I still call the remote a clicker sometimes.
Most shows I either delete or fast forward thru, but one caught my interest. A long arm quilter was talking about pantographs. Looks like fun and I want something challenging to do.
Of course I go right to the computer and look to see if I can find any for sale. Ha, it's like the fitbit bands all over again. Hundreds - I found hundreds. Some are pretty simple and small, but I was looking for a big, cover some space, one.
I ordered 2.
One, a one row 10 incher, because I liked the flower pattern. The second one I ordered because I needed to finish Mike's new quilt and this pattern was called "Hubby Love" and it had hearts. A no brainer. It has a 11 inch pattern depth.
I wasn't sure if my machine could handle that size but oh well. Turns out it can.
See the little red light? |
You just tape this sucker to the table and follow the patterns with that little red laser light. Ok, that is simplifying it a little bit. It took some work to get it straight and centered, but when I did, Magic! You are standing behind the actual quilt so it's confusing not seeing the actual sewing going on, but I loved it. It also took lots more thread than I am normally used too.
It turned out beautiful. I am so proud of my first effort. It looks beautiful on the bed too.
Go ahead and click on the picture and enlarge it. You can see the quilting better. Yeah, I am that proud of it.
Time to find another quilt to stitch.
