GK Athletics Golf Outing

Genoa Kingston schools do NOT charge for kids to play sports. All the funds needed for kids to play at the schools are through fundraisers.

Now that Logan and Dylan have started playing golf seriously Mike thought it would be a great idea to get a foursome together, play golf with our grandsons, and support the football program where both boys had a memorable time playing - and of course, we had a great time watching them play. Both boys thought it would be fun too.

Mike sign us up. Dylan got an invite to go with 5 of his buddies for a long weekend to The Lake of the Ozarks. Well, he couldn't pass that up, so Logan brought his friend Will along. Logan and Will played sports together ever since they both started. Baseball - Basketball and of course Football, so we were well acquainted with him.

our foursome
This was the first time that both of the boys have ever played golf in a scramble format - shotgun start. We started out on Hole #4 and it didn't take long for them to catch on. We had 13 pars and 5 birdies. We did have 2 putts for eagle when Will put us on the green in 2 on 2 par 5's.

If your ball was the one on the green closest to the hole, you were first up to finish the hole and putt out. Logan parred 2 par 3's without any help from his playing partners.
It got to a point where they would all drive and I didn't even go up to the tee box. There was no way I was going to outdrive any of them. We did manage to use 1 of my drives on a hole where the forward tees had a 100 yard advantage.
We had a true scramble day.
They all Drove - I stayed in the cart

It was a great day. The weather was perfect. The golf was good. I got to play golf where I didn't really have to hack along for my score. It was for a great cause. AND we got to play with our Grandson.
