Toy Soldier - St. Luke - Shepard

I was happy to go to watch our Grandsons partake in the programs and play this year at their school.

Luke's 3rd grade dressed up like the Saints for a mass on All Saints Day. Our Luke was of course St. Luke.

Then Roger's 5th grade class put on the play the Nutcracker. This is usually done by the 4th grade, but well everybody know last year was a no go on everything so they moved it to the fifth grade. Roger really was hoping that he would get away without doing it. It was a huge production on the stage in the gymnasium and aside from the mumbling behind the masks it was enjoyable to watch.

He was a Toy Soldier and a mighty fine good one. He hated the turtleneck, but loved the sword fighting.

Then yesterday we got to go in and watch Owen's 1st grade class put on a program about the birth of Christ and the celebration of Christmas. It took place in the church and I can't remember the last time I got to sing Christmas carols with such a large group.

Owen was the second in line walking in and he saw Me and Mike there and got very excited. After he sat down he turned around to see if we were watching and ended up playing rock, paper, scissors with Papa. I'm not sure that was a smart thing to do in church, but oh well.

Owen is the second on the right

I'm so thankful that their school does so many things for the parents and Grandparents to see and they include the other classes to come and watch. Gives us a chance to wave a hello to Roger and Luke too.
