The Helper

Everybody needs a helper like Roger.
Boy does he love to "work".
He will sort your drill bits. His eyes lit up when Papa opened this case full of bits.
He can get you a drill bit and a screw driver bit for your drill. He even know a Phillips head from a regular.
He had to take all the tools out of Papa's tool box. The sharp ones (razor blade knives) stayed in the bottom of the box. Luke just wanted to be part of it too so Roger gave him a wrench. "A wrench won't hurt him."

The big boys planned on putting together the bookcase that Mike had made Bryan and Mary for their small apartment a few years ago. http://kkmilli.blogspot.com/2010/08/teamwork.html
They have the perfect spot in their living room.

Roger placed the screws into the holes so Papa could get them started.

The shelves get added. Roger had to be sure that his screws stayed in their holes. Bryan helped Mike to line the shelves up.

He loves getting in the mix and is quite proud when you ask him for something. All the tools have to laid out and he is very good at making sure they are all put away when you are finished. He tells you that "You have to take care of them."
Yes, Roger is turning into quite the little helper.

Luke Turned 1

Now that BlogSpot has fixed their problem with me I can share Luke's 1st Birthday.
We met for breakfast and he was so happy with just his spoon. The kid is a happy person in general.

After we head on over to Newburg and opened presents.
He got this cool truck to ride on and it makes noise from his Uncle Brian. With a little help from Mama he was all about it. Good thing it had an off/on switch that thing was noisy. he loved it!

Of course he had to show us all his moves. Yes, he is walking - except when he is chasing after Roger and then he goes faster crawling, but it's only a matter of time. Can you say "Hands Full!"
We sang him Happy Birthday and then ate Cake...

My Valentine

The is no question who is my Valentine. I married him on Valentine's Day 28 years ago this Friday.

Now Mike's Valentine is in question!

He came home Thursday with this.
Now I 'm thinking - Oh how Cute!
Turns out it's not for me - He has another Valentine who invited him to a dance Saturday Night and this was for her. Her corsage is provided with the ticket package.

Kaylyn wanted to take her Papa to her "Dad and Daughter Dance". NOT her Dad.

Mike got showered up, put on a tie (had to be a red one , requested by his granddaughter) and cologne.
Kaylyn got a new dress. Her hair all done up and a bit of makeup.
And They partied the night away. I do have pictures and video, but they are stuck on the damn new smart phones we just got and I don't know how to use it completely just yet.

The reason Kaylyn told her Dad that she wanted to take Papa instead of him was because "Papa is getting old". I'm thinking she wanted to take him because he can't say no to her and will dance every dance she wanted too.
Turns out we are both right.
Mike came home and told me all about his date. Yes, he talked all about it!
They danced and danced and danced. He loved the part when he picked Kaylyn up (all Kaylyn's idea and his back held up just fine) for the last dance and she put her head on his shoulder. They made a date, right then, to dance to "Butterfly Kisses" at her wedding.

This morning, Mike made the comment that "Kaylyn kicked my a** last night, I am beat." Yup - getting old.

I guess I will have to get used to sharing my Valentine with the granddaughter.
