Hosting Easter

Mary and Bryan are having everybody over for Easter.
That means I do not have to get my house "company" clean.
Don 't have to plan a menu or invite guest. Get out the better dishes and serving plates.

I get to do fun stuff.

Like make flowers!

And bunny butt cookies. What little boy will not want to eat a Bunny butt?

I still do not get out of making the Nebraska corn or Dylan's mac n cheese though.

Pantographs

I DVR a quilting show. It runs a couple times a week.
I was going to say "tape a quilting show," but that's technically not true anymore - there is no tape. Somethings are hard to let go - I still call the remote a clicker sometimes.

Most shows I either delete or fast forward thru, but one caught my interest. A long arm quilter was talking about pantographs. Looks like fun and I want something challenging to do.

Of course I go right to the computer and look to see if I can find any for sale. Ha, it's like the fitbit bands all over again. Hundreds - I found hundreds. Some are pretty simple and small, but I was looking for a big, cover some space, one.

I ordered 2.
One, a one row 10 incher, because I liked the flower pattern. The second one I ordered because I needed to finish Mike's new quilt and this pattern was called "Hubby Love" and it had hearts. A no brainer. It has a 11 inch pattern depth.
I wasn't sure if my machine could handle that size but oh well. Turns out it can.

See the little red light?

You just tape this sucker to the table and follow the patterns with that little red laser light. Ok, that is simplifying it a little bit. It took some work to get it straight and centered, but when I did, Magic! You are standing behind the actual quilt so it's confusing not seeing the actual sewing going on, but I loved it. It also took lots more thread than I am normally used too.

It turned out beautiful. I am so proud of my first effort. It looks beautiful on the bed too.
Go ahead and click on the picture and enlarge it. You can see the quilting better. Yeah, I am that proud of it.

Time to find another quilt to stitch.

So There, Mr. Fitbit

I have a black band for my fitbit. I know that Sharen's daughter-in-law, Erica, has a blue one. I am pretty sure she uses the small size wrist band and I use the large one so I texted her and asked if she wanted to trade my black small band  for her blue large one.
She got right back to me and told me that she bought some extra colors on Amazon.
OMG I was so surprised just how many different bands there are. Dummy Me...

I really wanted to get the polka dot one and the red swirl ones or even the flowered ones, but I did not want attention brought to my thick wrists so I settled on the group of 3 that had a skin tone color among the choices. I am pretty sure I will break down and order some of those pretty bands later. They really are quite cheap.

They sent me one of these buggers too - for free.

A little thing to wear around the neck, I suppose.

I have not been getting my total steps in. Not because I have been lazy, but because I have been running in the water and these fitbits are not water proof.
I got this brilliant idea to attached this thing to a barrette and wear it on my head - That never gets wet..
So I took this little sucker and clipped it on top of my head and stuffed it under my ponytail.
Dry as a desert.
And I got more than my steps in and miles in and calories burned.

So Take that Mr. FitBit.
