It's not enough

that I have someone that looks like me...

I now have some one that wants to be me, or at least get to our money.

Some A**hole in Maspeth, NY has tried to hack into my bank account through an ATM machine, so now our checking account is on hold and I will be getting a new debit card. Just when I got all our bills paid through direct payments.

Thanks, A**HOLE!
And I could kick myself - STUPID me!
Apparently I am now alone - It has happened to others. Doesn't make it any easier. Yes, I was an idiot and gave them my card number, but then I realized my mistake and changed my pass code. I am canceling everything and getting new numbers anyway.

Teamwork

I designed it.
Mike measured it.
Mike bought the wood.
Mike measured it, again.
Mike cut it.
My part is coming soon.

I sanded and stained it.

Mike drilled holes for the screws and laid it all out.

Together we put it together in Bryan and Mary's living room. Now how do we get it into the archway into their office/dining area?

Wellll-la!!!!!

Before

After

I think the Florys will be quiet pleased.

The we went out and had dinner and drinks with Sam!

OK - and her parents too.

I wasn't going to mentioned this - but - if you look closely at Mike forehead you will see a small cut and a huge lump. There is a larger cut between his eyes all because of me. I jokingly said to him when he was putting in the drill bit to tighten it up good. I didn't want it coming loose and putting my eye out. You guessed it, he let ME do the drilling while he held the wood in place and the drill slipped out of my hand and flew and hit HIM in the face. He ended up consoling me I cried so hard.

Exercise

Mike has been going to workouts since his retirement. Sometimes with a trainer and sometimes on his own. His weight is down and he is feeling good enough to play his travel softball and an occasional round of golf.
I on the other hand have not - so, I joined L.A. Fitness too, and go along with Sharen to aqua fit classes on Monday and Wednesday nights. (You didn't expect me to go without her did you?)
We had the great idea to add Sunday mornings to our workout routines and hit the pool right after church. I am proud to say we have not missed a class or a Sunday since June. The exception being when we were out of town.

This Sunday we didn't go. Only because the weather was perfect for a bike ride.

Around the lake

Along the creek

Through the woods

I just wanted to keep going until Sharen reminded me that we still had to turn around and go back.

Log-animal

THAT is the nickname of my #2 grandson.
Logan's football season has started and he was very excited to get the games started.

He got a uniform adjustment from his Dad.

He got some encouraging words from Coach Jerry. That's Logan on the far right #42.

And then he went out and kicked some A**. Logan played full back on offense and left tackle on defense. (I think). He would stand there with both arms swinging daring them to run to his side. He was ready to take someone down and he did not disappoint.

I am now a Bronco fan - for 8 yr olds anyway.

Logan was pretty easy to spot! The only one in white shoes.

Wedding Memories

I prettied him up and then I kissed him goodbye.

I didn't take any pictures - the ones I do have someone else had my camera and snapped. My twin told me to sit back and enjoy the day and she would handle capturing all the memories made. And that is just what I did. I know there were a lot of pictures taken and when I receive them all I will post them.

Memories Made
- The people who showed up. Wow, there were a bunch. Thank you all for coming.
- The family who didn't hesitate to help me with anything I needed. The hall looked great you guys.
- The temperature.
- My hair and makeup - I felt like I was on Project Runway. Thank you to Deanna and Carrie.
- My granddaughter, the flower girl, I was sooooo proud of her.
- Mary wearing my Mother's brooch in her hair.
- The happy smiles and hugs from the Murphey family for making the veils.
- The look I got from Bryan to turn around and watch Mary and not him when she was walking down the aisle. Funny - Andy, Pat, and Craig noticed it too. I hope it shows up on the video. Priceless!
- The love on Mary's face when she said her vows. I got through Bryan's OK, but she made me cry.
- Mike squeezing my hand during the ceremony.
- Andy coming down and giving me a long hug.
- My dress sticking to my backside when I stood up and thinking I should of worn a slip. (That is probably TMI, but it is a funny memory.)
- The temperature - I know I said this already, but it was HOT!
- Mary dancing with Lloyd and Michael holding his mother while they watched.
- My dance with Bryan and how he held me so tight. Bryan picked the song, years ago!
- The dance floor NEVER being empty.
- Bryan's friends who sought me out and gave me hugs.
- The last time I said "Mother of the Groom" and pointed at myself. It was to the bartender, Mike.
- The last song of the evening. I sang it to Bryan when he was little and he remembered. Goodnight Sweetheart, Goodnight!
- The friends and family who helped with the clean up - I know you were all exhausted.
- The car loaded down with presents and then realizing we had no room for our luggage and cooler. Sharen took our suitcases home and Stacy and Kory took the cooler.
- The warmth and hospitality from the Murphey family. Bryan is joining one hell of a group.

The day was just what I had hoped for for Bryan and Mary and I can't wait to talk with people who were there and hear their memories.

Taking A Break

from all the wedding planning and took the trip with Mike to Shelbyville IN for his softball tourney last weekend.

On the way down 47 I spotted what I wanted for my birthday - I suggested to Mike we buy the lot next door and put one of these there. You can see these suckers for miles.

On the way home Sunday night we came through this stretch of wind mill farms about 12:30 and they were red dots on the horizon all flashing as the blades passed over the red lights on top of them. Awesome!

Mike has found a great team to play with.
First of all they stick together as a team. "Prime on 3 - 1.2.3 Prime!"

Second they tailgate and share their beers. Our beer disappeared fast.

Third they let me join them for dinner. Me at a table with 7 guys.

Fourth they invited me to join them in the dugout, out of the sun, after 6 games of scrambling to find shade and stay close enough to them. I was keeping their score book. Mike, The team jokester, (my Mike is called Milli - a coach from another team actually asked if that was his real name - I told him Yes) said that I could be their team mascot he wanted to say team B*tch so I said it for him. Got a cheer for that one! I also got big thanks and hugs for running to the concession stand to get bags of ice for them. We had a couple injuries, but the boys played on.

Mike finally got to show his stuff by pitching 5 of their 8 games they played. He only walked 2 and that was the last game and ALL were tired. He never was the losing pitcher.
There were teams there from all over the midwest. We played teams from Indiana, Ohio and Kentucky. They played 3 on Saturday and got seeded 1. They played 5 games on Sunday and their only lose was in the bumper game for the championship, in the bottom of the eighth. It was perfect weather - sunny (I got my tan for the wedding) and breezy both days.
A perfect softball weekend.

Run....

Close the doors fast....
Close the car windows......
Shut the garage door.....

Thank heaven for the new screens that have no rips!!!!!

The mosquitoes have invaded Shady Lane...

Usually I do not worry about bugs. I don't like them and they do NOT like me. I can sit next to someone with OFF on and be OK and not be bitten. Mike get jealous because mosquitoes really do not bite me. I tell him I have vinegar for blood.

Today I picked some tomatoes and then mowed the lawn and I was swarmed with mosquitoes. I took the lawn fogger and sprayed as I picked. I had to actually spray bug repellent and wear long sleeves and pants to mow the lawn.

Mercy! The mosquitoes are BAD this year.

Cash for Gold

Everyday I see ads in the papers for stores that want to give you cash for gold.

Friends I know have said that they have tried this and they really give you cash.
Mike took some of his Mother's jewelry that nobody wanted and yup he got cash for the gold pieces.

So, when Stacy called and said she is having a "Cash for Gold" party I thought why not?

Some of the stuff I took jumped right off the table when she laid the magnet above them, but some were actually gold.

Cha-ching! $215.00 for 2 necklaces and 2 rings. Sweet!

Birthday Celebration

Friday we had plans with Bryan and Mary to go to dinner to celebrate Bryan's birthday. Mike and I decide to head out early on Friday.
On the way in I was transferring some necessities into a smaller bag and realized I did not have my debit card.

Crap! I must have left it at Applebees on Thursday (we stopped there after golf). So I called there and was transferred to the manager. I asked about my card and he laughed and asked me if I was his "Blue Coconut Margarita". I chuckled and told him it was his fault.

When the waitress asked us if we were interested in their drink specials and said "Blue Coconut Margartia" I said Hell yes.
Turns out if you have 2 of those buggers you leave you card with them. :)

Anyway we took the el downtown hoping to see some of the Transformers movie sets. We walked around and all we saw was barricades. Turns out they were filming on Saturday not Friday. Oh well. I did stop to take a picture of the barricades but stopped my self.

We strolled around the town and stopped at the Blackhawk's store and Mike got his locker room hat. I got a red champion shirt.

We wonder down to Millennium park and watch the kids play in the water while we eat shaved ices. Pineapple for me and Cherry for Mike. Yummy! They came in these cool flower cups.

We meet up at Mary's place and walked around the corner. Bryan wanted to go to Glen's Diner, but everyone else was thinking that same thing so we stopped at Fountainhead and a good thing we did cause the food was really good. Sweet Potato chip to die for and a champagne draft beer called Original Sin that was AWESOME!

13 days till these two get hitched.
