Happy Halloween

Saturday night brought the kids out. - OLD and YOUNG

I made "scrambled Mosticolli" for dinner and all the kids came over. I used up all the 1/2 boxes of pasta I had in the cupboard and called it scrambled. The kids loved it.

After dinner we cleared the table, cover it in plastic and we had the best time.

After drawing just the perfect faces with marker the big kids cut their own out and Mike brought out the power tools and helped the grandkids.

It was surprising how much seed that Mary and Stacy had in their pumpkins, maybe because I bought them fresh that morning from the patch down the street. Anyway we had a bunch for roasting. I have never been lucky with roasting seed, so thanks to Mary in showing me how. We had a bunch of mighty tasty seeds.

Really strange - Brian and Bryan both ended up with round eyes and smiles with 3 teeth, only their noses were different. Mary and Stacy's both had square eyes.

Here they all are with their pumpkins minus Bryan - for some reason I didn't get his pic.
Both Dylan and Logan were hot in their costumes - so they are not wearing them. :)
They DO have clothes on though, even though this picture of Logan looks contrary.
This is Stacy's "how I feel at school" pumpkin face.
Kaylyn insisted on a pumpkin with whiskers. She included the Boo herself.
Mary was the only pumpkin with ears.

Here are all the pumpkins lined up with candles in them.

We finished the night up with Halloween cupcakes and the best jello parfaits. I found Pumpkin spice jello pudding at the store and made the parfaits. YUMMY!!!!
The box said seasonal release so I bought 4. Now I'm thinking of going back and getting some more - it was that good.

He is a Champion

The GK Broncos blue team won the championship. It's the first time a GK team has won since joining this conference - in any division.

It was a hard fought battle with neither team scoring until the second half. This team was our only lose in the first game of the season so the boys wanted revenge.

We were the first on the board with a 65 yard touchdown run from our star player JP. One of their players was kicked out of the game for unsportsman like conduct. He really was a nasty little boy. He punched Logan in the stomach once and Logan said it was he could do not to punch back.

Logan with his medal.

Logan's coach owns a bar in Kingston so we stopped there after lunch to toast with the parents and Logan could enjoy his victory with his teammates.

Relax Logan was just posing with the beer.

And the trophy

Logan has been chosen to play on the 8 year old all star team so his season is not over yet. He has a weekend tournament 11/6 & 7 playing against other divisions in northern Illinois.

Grandma looks old

Brian brought Dylan over last night. He needed his sleeves shortened on his lab coat for his costume for Halloween. His boy scout troop is hosting the haunted walk and he is going as a mad scientist. I was happy to help.
Mike was that one year and wore this wig with hair sticking out just like the wig Dylan is going to wear only red instead of gray. We got the home movies out for Dylan to see Mike in his costume.
It was the first year we had the camera and we put on this magic show. Mike was the magician wearing his red hair sticking out wig and I worked the camera - putting it on pause while we changed the scenes.
The kids were the assistants. Shirts were turned inside out, Cheesecake appeared in Brian's arms and Stacy turned into Bryan. Silly Times.
Dylan was having a fun time watching his Mother when she was 6, for awhile anyway.

We ended up watching more home movies and the silly things the boys did when they were Dylan's age and had the camera all to themselves with no one else watching. Brian, Mike and I couldn't stop laughing. We were all having a good time watching, talking and remembering the good old days - we literally laughed till we cried.

All this said we were enjoying it more that Dylan. He just thought Grandma looked old now.

GK Broncos

The playoffs started and the GK Broncos are fired up.

I say GK - You say Broncos!
I seriously have no idea what they are saying - but it's cute to watch.

The crowds was too.
We traveled to Rosco to watch Logan play in his first playoff game.
Of course they won and now are in the championship game. They play the team they lost too (their only lose) in the first game of the season. Next Sunday at noon in Rosco.

Note to self: BRING THE STUPID CAMERA!!!!!!!

Who Does that?

I am a sleeper. I go to bed and fall asleep almost immediately. I can sleep, get up go the bathroom, and fall back asleep most every night.

Mike on the other hand is not that lucky. Last night he found himself after midnight surfing the web.
He figured out my secret to getting the latest books from the library. Sign up online before they come out to get the firsts copies. One of his favorite authors (Vince Flynn) has a new book out so he got on the library website and signed up. While he was there he clicked on the latest movies available.

Ironman 2 was listed and he has been wanting to see it so he signed up.
"This movie will be on hold till 5:30 am."
What?
Who goes in the middle of the night to the library to pick up a movie.
That would be my husband. He left the house went to the library and picked up the movie.

I, of course slept though it all.

Great News

Read All About it

To say that I am excited is an under statement.
I jumped up and down, hugged Carrie, and then jumped up and down some more hugging my twin.
The grandmother of the new additions to our family.

I know Carrie is scared and I can't blame her - Twins are a HUGE deal.

But Carrie is one of the strongest, accepting, most organized, woman I know. She is an awesome Mother to Matthew and God couldn't of picked a better person to carry on the Kolberg twin saga.

Being a twin is something very special. I speak from experience. To be chosen to be the Mother of twins means that you are pretty special too.

I hope her pregnancy goes smooth and she has 2 healthy babies .
