Mike and I don't eat out much, but when we do, our favorite place to go is Applebees. Yesterday they were offering free dinner to all Veterans. Since Mike is a Marine we decide to take them up on their offer. They also passed out $5 off coupons for our next visit. Sweet!
They had a special Veteran's menu, but it had a wide selection of choices. Mike settled on the burger.
You had to bring some sort of proof that you served so Mike brought his discharge papers. When the waitress asked an older Veteran at a table behind us if he had some sort of identification he said no and then rolled up his sleeve to show her his USMC tattoo and asked her if that was good enough.
She smiled and said Yes Sir.

Lee and I wanted to go to Applebees also, but he had class. Maybe next year. :-(
